We have to cover everything with the Lord Himself, not by a false sort of optimism, not by blinding our eyes to the evil, but by really seeing God in everything. Thus we have to give up the world, and when the world is given up, what remains? God. What is meant? You can have your wife; it does not mean that you are to abandon her, but that you are to see God in the wife… So, in everything. In life and in death, in happiness and in misery, the Lord is equally present. The whole world is full of the Lord. (2.146)

આપણે બધું ઈશ્વરથી આવરી દેવાનું છે; પણ તે ભ્રાન્ત સુખવાદથી નહીં, અશુભ પ્રત્યે આંખમીંચામણાં કરીને પણ નહીં, પરંતુ સર્વમાં ઈશ્વરનું ખરેખર દર્શન કરીને. આપણે દુનિયાનો ત્યાગ આમ કરવાનો છે; અને દુનિયાનો ત્યાગ કર્યા પછી આપણી પાસે શું રહે છે ? ઈશ્વર. તેનો શો અર્થ છે ? તમારે પત્ની ભલે રહી; પત્નીને તમારે છોડવી પડશે એવું નથી, પણ તે પત્નીમાં તમારે ઈશ્વરનાં દર્શન કરવાનાં છે… તે જ પ્રમાણે દરેક વસ્તુમાં પણ ઈશ્વરને જોવાનો છે. જીવનમાં અને મૃત્યુમાં, સુખમાં અને દુઃખમાં, ઈશ્વર સમાન રીતે હાજર છે. આખુંય જગત ઈશ્વરમય છે.
