The little toleration that is in the world, the little sympathy that is yet in the world for religious thought, is practically here in the land of the Aryas, and nowhere else. It is here that Indians build temples for Mohammedans and Christians; nowhere else. If you go to other countries and ask Mohammedans or people of other religions to build a temple for you, see how they will help. ધાર્મિક માન્યતાઓ માટે જગતમાં જે કાંઈ સહિષ્ણુતા છે, જે કાંઈ જરાતરા પણ સહાનુભૂતિ છે, તે વ્યાવહારિક રીતે જોતાં અહીં આ આર્યોની ભૂમિમાં જ છે, બીજે ક્યાંય નથી. એવું કેવળ અહીં જ છે કે જ્યાં હિંદુઓ મુસલમાનો માટે મસ્જિદ અને ખ્રિસ્તીઓને માટે ચર્ચ બાંધે છે; બીજે ક્યાંય નથી. તમે બીજા દેશોમાં જાઓ અને મુસલમાનોને અગર બીજા ધર્મના લોકોને કહી તો જુઓ કે અમારા માટે એક મંદિર બાંધી આપો ? તમને કેવી મદદ મળશે એની તરત ખબર પડશે. અરે, મદદ મળવી તો બાજુએ રહી, ઊલટાનું તમારું મંદિર હશે તો તે પણ તોડી નાખશે; બનશે તો તમને પણ તોડી નાખશે.
