Dear Nikhileswaranandaji,
I am glad to know that Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot, is celebrating the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Gujarat.
Swami Vivekananda wandered throughout his motherland before sailing for USA to participate in the World’s Parliament of Religions in 1893. This period of his parivrajaka days played an important part in transforming his personality and preparing him for the task of regenerating our nation. He spent a considerable part of this period in Gujarat, where he came in contact with many important princes, ministers, writers, social reformers, etc. All of them were much influenced by his majestic personality.
On this significant occasion of the 125th anniversary of Swamiji’s visit to Gujarat, it is befitting that Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot, is organizing public meetings at different places in Gujarat sanctified by the stay of Swami Vivekananda, to spread his message.
